If you are already on the Paleo train, than you have your own reasons. If you are considering Paleo right now, then let me help you with your decision. When you are eating paleo, you are eliminating food from your diet that your body just doesn’t need. I know that the government lists wheat products in the food pyramid, and recommends 3 – 5 servings per day of potatoes, wheat or rice. Unfortunately, if you look around you everywhere you go, you will see a society full of obese people. This is the result of following the food pyramid. 

Paleo is high fat, high protein & low carbs. It is recommended that your carb intake be less than 100 g per day. You can choose to eat high quality fats and proteins. You will probably need to make sacrifices to reduce your carb intake. As a result, your body will react with what is called the carb flu. You will feel tired. You will get headaches, and you will feel miserable….but only for a few days.

Afterwards, your body will turn into a fat burning machine. Your cravings will decrease, and your body won’t be hungry every few hours. You will feel more awake, and have more energy. You wil be able to last hours without feeling hungry.

This is a quick summary of what paleo can do for you. To understand what paleo is and how it works, I recommend that you read this book from Mark Sisson. He is one of the experts that I follow. This book has become the foundation of how I eat and exercise.

I remember when I started eating paleo, and I though, “if I can’t have bagels, english muffins, toast or cereal, what am I going to eat for breakfast?”. This post gives you a great starting point for breakfast.
