Do you feel like you are living your life on your own terms, or are you simply surviving. Not necessarily creating the best life you can. Are you the “Best You” that you can be? Most people cannot say that. Most people that you see every day are simply going through the motions and trying to get through the day. They are jealous and critical of those that are living their dreams, but they are also not prepared to make sacrifices.

After their workday is done, they would rather spend time in front of the TV, than to buld a side hustle business. A side business that can create extra income, and change the trajectory of their lives and the lives of their family with hard work, and a little luck.

To live your best life, you need to think like success people think, talk like successful people talk, and read and listen to what success people read and listen to. So where do you start?

 

Listen to podcasts of successful people

There are many people that share their successful ideas and thoughts freely and completely on their podcasts. They share hours and hours of information and it is yours for the taking. People like Tony Robbins, and Grant Cardone, or Pat Flynn at Smart Passive Income. There are podcasts from people in every genre and every business. People with proven methods of success, and they are giving it all away. You can spend hundreds of hours just listening. By listening to successful people, you can do the most important thing that is required for change. That is to change your own thoughts and ideas. Your mind is a powerful tool that can be utilized to generate success, or can simply be put on a shelf and never used. Its up to you! The great thing about listening to podcasts is that you can do that when you are driving, or when you are working out, or when you are working around the house.

 

Read Non-Fiction

This idea is similar to the podcasts in that you can consume knowledge from others and it doesn’t cost very much. Imagine having an opportunity to sit down with Steve Jobs, or Tony Robbins, or Jeff Bezos and having them share all of their business ideas with you. Would that be a benefit? How much do you think an hour of their time would cost? Probably a lot. For Steve Jobs, it is impossible.

But by picking up a book that they have authored, you can consume that same knowledge for very little money and possibly free. You can use their ideas and their tips and create your own business. Every business starts with an idea. By modeling the best businessmen from every era will you help you with your success. Pick up a book and read it. Find a Mentor

You can certainly become better and gain skilz by reading books, but real education comes when you can find a mentor that will not only tell you what to do, but teach you how to master it. Find a mentor that is willing to spend time with you, even if it costs you money. Very quickly, you can learn what it may have taken the mentor 10 years of experience to learn. That knowledge will save you time, money and heart ache. If you are lucky enough to outgrow this mentor, you can move to another mentor.

Network with Other Like Minded People

When you are a lone wolf and you are building your business on your own, it is important to have others that will help to motivate you and support you on your journey. Especially if they are on their own similar journey. When there is someone that you can share your victories and defeats with, life becomes much easier. You need someone to talk you off the ledge when you are facing adversity in your business and feel that you want to quit.

That person may be your life partner, but it doesn’t have to be. It is nice when you are both sharing your business together, but it can also be tough on a relationship. But find someone. It may even be someone that you don’t already know. You can find this person online, or offline. It may be more than one person. Perhaps you will find a study group that can act as your company’s board of directors.

It’s true that if you don’t know where you want to go, it doesn’t matter which way you go. So it is so important that you define what your goals are. Know where you are going in every aspect of your life, and how much income you want to earn. Know your physical fitness goals and your spirtual goals, and what career you want. Also, know what you want for your family. Once you know what you want, it is much easier to come up with a game plan to achieve your goals.

Document your goals, and your progression. Every day, every week, every month, every year, etc. When you know what needs to be done, it is easier to take the necessary steps every single day. You can use a journal, or a diary, or a dayplanner. As they say, plan your work and work your plan.

Meditate

It is important to take care of yourself and that includes your mind. The best way I know of to do that is through meditation. It doesn’t have to be monk intensity, don’t talk for a year type meditation. To meditate means taking time to focus on your inner feelings and thoughts. It means controlled breathing. You are taking some time to take care of yourself. When you take this time to get in touch with your feelings, it is amazing what you can learn about yourself.
